Bhawana is a first-generation immigrant from Nepal. Her family were refugees both in Nepal and in the US. Her mother and father have no formal education and struggled to support her and her brother. Turning the tide, Bhawana received a master’s degree from the University of Denver. Seven years ago, Bhawana came to Dress for Success and loved the programs and community of women so much, she became an advocate and now refers new women to Dress for Success Denver.

In 2022, Bhawana became an affiliate ambassador, attending and volunteering at every Professional Women’s group meeting. In 2019, Bhawana was selected as a representative for Save the Children Action network, where she worked with over 100 student representatives to advocate for children. Today, Bhawana works as a network operations specialist at Lumen.
